Dry Spell and the End of Summer

Sat Sep 6, 2008, 12:03 AM
To all new comers to my profile, Welcome! I'm honored that you found my work, where ever you may have found it, worthy enough to come and visit my page. If you have already viewed my gallery, I hope you have enjoyed it, and if you haven't, I'd like you to take a look and let me know what you think. Any comments and critiques are "VERY" much appreciated. I'm a young photographer and I can use all the help I can get :) Thanks again for viewing ;)

I've been in quite a dry spell with photography lately. I really just haven't had time. Being in the middle of soccer season, I just don't have much time for anything. I've taken a few photos here and there, but haven't had time to upload them. It's really killing me not being able to go out and shoot. I hope maybe next weekend I can go out all day Saturday and just shoot all day.

Well, today was the first time I've wore pants since then warming of spring and summer. It's rather depressing. Summer is my favorite season of the year. I love the warm weather, and especially not having school. School just seems like such a pointless thing, I hardly learn anything. One plus though is I get to go to a vocational class for electronics, which is nice because there, I actually do learn something useful.

Yesterday we had more rain in one day than we've probably had the whole summer. It seriously rained "hard" for just about the whole day. I'm not sure on the total rainfall, but I'm sure it was a lot. It was much needed though, all the ground around here was cement hard and the farms were doin' real bad. But it that rain was especially amazing to me. If you think about where it came from. Hurricanes. Those are truly fascinating weather events. It's amazing how such a powerful storm and develop from the ocean and carry so much rain that it can travels a thousand miles and still drop tons and tons of rain.

I am a little excited for fall though, mostly all the changing leaves. They are so beautiful, and finally this year I have a camera to capture them in all their glory. I really can't wait to go out shooting then, not to mention in October I may be going down to the Smokey Mountains  I really hope I can go there. Mountains are such beautiful landscapes.

Thank you for reading my journal, I really appreciate you taking the time and would like you to enjoy my gallery if you haven't already. I really appreciate comments and critiques  Thanks again, Gavin.
