Just an Update

Journal Entry: Sun Jan 11, 2009, 8:13 PM
Hello Everyone,

I haven't been real active as of late. I have been somewhat busy with school and work. I have finals this week, but that studying thing doesn't usually work out to well for me. I usually get about 10 minutes into it and just say f this, this 2 hours of studying isn't going to help me, I have a whole semester to go over in one night...

Work has been going good. I work at a Web Design firm that specializes in Direct Response web sites, which is just is a fancy way of saying "As Seen on TV". Yep we do web sites for those infomercials you see on TV for those products that you know they can't possibly work, and to be honest, hardly any of them actually do, lol. You be surprised though, in December there was 19 million, that's right, million dollars that were transferred through our company. That's not in profit, that's just the amount of cash flow, but still that's a lot of cash being transferred. The "Snuggie" is one of our more popular products now, through our website there are about 6,000 orders a day. We also do the website for "MagicJack" one of our actual legit products and we got that client last year in January, and still to this day we get several thousand orders a day. It's really shocking how many people actually do purchase these products.

I'm now thinking of, with my extra time, doing websites for local companies freelancing myself. I figure it's a great way to build a nice portfolio and make a few extra bucks while I'm at it. I'll keep you guys updated and post links to the websites that I do. I have two places in mind at the moment, a local steakhouse and a salon that my friend currently works at. I have already done a website for my friend who owns his landscaping company. The current webpage can be found here [link] and the new one I'm currently working on can be found here [link]

Thanks again to all who view my profile and photos, it's much appreciated :D

Oh, so YOU'RE responsible for Billy Mays! :shakefist:

I often wondered how those products do--if they didn't do much they wouldn't be on TV ;)

Sounds like busy times, for sure  I sonetimes wish all I had to worry about was studying--not that I'm belittling your workload, not at all, if studying was all I had to worry about it would mean I was back in school and I would be 17-18 years old and could do a lot of things different ;)

Enjoy it while you can  I hope your new deal works out for you  Working for the other guy for your entire life sux, to say the least. Keep at it and you'll do well. You're a smart guy and nobody's gonna hold you down for long.

the only thing that holding me down now is school taking from my time and experience. I'm gaining lots of experience at work, and once school is out of the way, i'll be ready to pounce. I'm very determined to stay in this field as long as I can, but if all else fails, I'll get a degree in electrical as a fall back. I'll probably stay with my current job for a while. I really like it there, the guys at work are great, and my boss is just another one of the guys. He is very lenient, his philosophy is he doesn't care what goes on, just as long as work gets done when it's do, with in reason of course. That's the kind of management that leads to awesome creativity

nope, but we may soon, who knows. and yep, tons of people buy the blanket with sleeves... it's crazy, just go to walmart and get a cheap blanket, get some safety pins and there you have it, a snuggie, lol.

We laugh at that commercial and would say, "No one is going to buy that... just get the blanket off your bed!" :faint: Man, were we wrong! LOL
