Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr
SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling :aww:
I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3
So, about the theme of the contest. Well whenever I've felt down and blue because I've been slapped upside the head with an art block, I like to wallow in self pity and blast my favourite tunes XD (LOL) It's extremely therapeutic :P and it really does help to inspire me with new ideas :D.

The Good and the Bad

Welcome to my profile. I'm happy you've payed a visit. I hope you'll enjoy both my journal and my gallery. Any comments and critiques are strongly encourage.

Hi all.

Well today I have some good news and some bad news. Let's go bad news first so we can end on a high note.

Today we lost our sectional game for soccer. :( It was a hard hard fought game. We lost 3-1 against a school that is literally 8 times our size. So I'd say we didn't do too bad. I really wanted to win, but at least I have to good news.

Now for the good news, I'm going to the Smokey's next week :D I can't wait. I'm ordering extra CF cards for the trip tomorrow. I have my back up battery now, so that's good. Also have a circular polarizer too. So I'd say I'm pretty set for photography :D

lol...dude, i understand ur pain but you have to understand that the school that won is much bigger than urs and they have a large number of people to choose to be in their team so 3-1 is not a bad score really...Have an awesome time on ur trip and come back with masterpieces!!!

yea, I understand that. But we were such a strong team this year, and it's unfortunate that boone grove doesn't have a very good coach. I think if we had a better one, we would have beat them. If there was any team in the area that could have beat them, it was us. Another problem is, since they are a big school, they play a lot of other big schools, and we have to play the crappy teams, so that puts us at a huge disadvantage, because they are used to the faster pace, better games.

And don't worry, I'll make sure to bring back some good lookin' pictures ;)

well unfortunately there won't be a next time. It was the last game of my high school soccer career. But I can't complain too much, we had an undefeated season with only 1 tie against a school that's about 5 times our size. And yes, I can't wait for the Smokey pics, I'm sure there will be lots. I've got a 2gb card and I think i'll get 2 more 4gb cards so that way I'll have room for 1000+ photos, which should be too hard to fill up since I'll be there for several days.
